Artist Statement 2014

Water is a constant source of conversation in the Lockyer Valley. On the farm, I have heard about the bore water well drying up over time and of the rainwater tank ending up a good kilometre away after the 2011 floods. Gone now is that corrugated iron silhouette replaced with a fatter dark green plastic descendant. Lives have been taken. On the surface, evidence abounds of the historical veins that have spread water throughout this region. Hidden below are golden eggs; the aquifers.
